Do we need to use Genesis as the basic framework of our partner solutions?⌄

Yes.

Can we write our own Genesis blocks?⌄

For now, OneStream does not support partner build blocks and recommends the use of classical build custom dashboards to support solution specific functionality.

When should I use OneStream Genesis blocks vs. custom dashboards?⌄

If possible, it is recommended to use (and preconfigure) OneStream blocks to implement required functionality instead of copying existing Genesis blocks. Custom pages and code should be used for solution specific functionality that can't be covered using blocks. You can also combine custom pages and OneStream blocks using the advanced dashboard builder.
